At present more than 150,00 American troops are serving outside of our country. Where and why deserve some answers.
In addition to the endless war in Afghanistan, where 63,000 of our troops are trying to help people, many if not most of whom hate our very guts, another 100,00 of our finest are deployed all over the world.
If I remember correctly, World War II ended nearly 70 years ago in 1945, so why are 52,000 U.S. troops still in Japan, 45,000 in Germany, 10,000 in Italy, 10,000 in the U.K. and another 50,000 or so scattered around the world?
I don’t know about most people, but I would feel a lot more secure if 50,000 of them were back here in America securing our southern borders from the Mexican drug cartels and the influx of illegals by patrolling and conducting raids (with the permission of the Mexican government) against cartel sources in Mexico.
Another 50,000 could be deployed back in the U.S. to help stamp out much of the gang violence that is raging in all of our major cities.
There will always be dreadful things happening in other countries, similar to what is going on in Syria, but when we try to police the rest of the world our efforts are seldom appreciated and we end up shortchanging the security of our own people here at home.
